The Menu
Serving distinctive homestyle Punjabi cuisine to generations of diners since 1946.
We serve Indian food which remains faithful to Punjabi, North Indian cuisine, and our oldest recipes are made just as Gurbachan Singh Maan would have made them. We continue to source fresh ingredients, still visiting the markets in the early hours to select our produce.
Our dishes rely on dairy and wheat products over coconut and rice products, as in the Punjab region these ingredients were far more plentiful, and therefore feature more heavily in Punjabi cookery. This favouring over rice also had pragmatic roots in the UK from the post-war years. When rice was rationed. We cook with vegetable ghee and wholegrain or white flour for our breads.
Our extensive menu has something for everyone, and for those in the know, there’s even a secret menu. Our Punjab Specialities include its famed Butter Chicken, Grandad’s Kali Daal and Kadu Puri.
We’re very much a walk-in restaurant, we seat walk-ins on a first come, first serve, complete group basis.
However, we take limited reservations if it’s a special occasion, for large groups of more than 10, or if you are visiting from overseas.
Our busiest times are between 7-9pm every day. Outside of these times, you are likely to get a table almost immediately. Please note, we always seat complete groups first.
We have a minimum order policy 1 main dish per person. For group bookings, we will require a £10 per person deposit to secure your reservation
